Although there are plenty of things to do in South Columbia County all year round, there are special times to visit the area to enjoy home town festivals, community pride and lots of fun. Take a peek at what’s coming up.

Annual Pumpkin Festival
Two Weekends in October

Join the fun and festivities at Oregon Hill Farms Annual Pumpkin Festival. Pick your own locally grown pumpkin, and enjoy the corn maze, hay rides, petting zoo, and other games and activities. We will also feature local arts and crafts, music, food, refreshments, and fun for all ages. The company store will be open during the festival.

13 Nights on the River Concert Series

Thursday nights June thru September the Columbia View Amphitheater in Historic Riverfront St. Helens becomes the living room of the community. Families & friends gather to enjoy a variety of music with the beautiful Columbia River as a backdrop. An Open Air Market offers options for dinner and a variety of merchandise vendors to peruse as well.  Schedule information can be found at the City of St. Helens web site.

 

Kiwanis Day Community Parade

This tradition every 3rd Saturday in June offers community groups an opportunity to promote their causes & organizations, as well as just a fun afternoon of clowns, music, candy, floats, horses and fun. Many other groups organize BBQ’s, picnics, bake sales and such around this community event, helping to spread the fun around town and allow folks to get out and meet their neighbors.

 

4th of July Celebration on the River

The St. Helens Fireworks committee fundraises ALL YEAR LONG to create a fantastic fireworks show displayed over the Columbia River from Sand Island in St. Helens. It is the largest fireworks show on the Oregon side of the Columbia River and now incorporates food & merchant vendors during the day and music as well.

 

Columbia County Fair & Rodeo

The excitement of rodeo and the thrill of amusement rides, along with displays from community members throughout the county truly make this event Best in Show. Stop by the 2006 Columbia County Fair & Rodeo and “Have a Nice Day!”

Columbia County Racing Association

Gear up for fast paced racing on a ¼ mile clay track at the Columbia County Event Complex. You’ll see Sportsman, Street Stock, V-8 Modifieds and Women’s Division competitions from spring into fall. Gentlemen, start your engines. 503-397-6506

 

Heritage Park Concert Series

Local and regional talent present a variety of music Friday nights, July-August in Heritage Park (Scappoose) at the gazebo. Celtic, bluegrass, county or rock, whatever your music fancy, there’s a band booked especially for you. www.scappoosecommunity.org

 

NW Steam Society Annual Steam Meet

Scappoose Sauerkraut Festival

A fun, family festival showcasing sauerkraut and the many creative uses for it. Enjoy cabbage bowling, a sauerkraut eating contest, music, entertainment and the many street vendors. Columbia County Oktoberfest
