Forum Topic - Economic Update
Presented by: Eric Knoder, Regional Economist and Graham Slater, Research Administrator with the Oregon Employment Department.

Oregon, like most of the nation, has suffered through a brutal recession. On April 13, 2010, Erik Knoder, the Employment Department's economist for northwest Oregon, and Graham Slater, the Department's Research Administrator, will be at our Chamber offices, sharing information on the employment impacts of this recession, and the likely outlook in the next 1-10 years. They'll talk about trends in unemployment, job losses across many industries, the likelihood that we'll start seeing job growth in coming months, and Oregon's long-term employment trends, including the delayed, but still coming, retirement of thousands of baby boomers.
