Town Hall Topic: Education
The second in the series of town halls in our area focuses on our schools and the importance of assuring that Oregon’s education system will be competitive in the 21st Century. This is an exceedingly timely concern both nationally and locally. Speak out, get informed, come participate in a broad exchange of ideas. Everyone has a stake in this important topic and how we can best utilize our limited resources.
A panel representing various aspects of the Oregon’s Educational system will join the discussion and answer your questions.
“Much of what we do as a community revolves around the school house,” said Rep. Brad Witt. “Investing in quality education creates successful careers, competitive businesses and a strong economy.”
“With K-12 funding comprising such a significant part of the state budget,” said Sen. Betsy Johnson, “it is appropriate that we are bringing some experts together to have this discussion about both practice and policy.”
